Domo in the World (Innbundet (stive permer))
Domo is a funny, square, fuzzy creature that began as the official mascot for a Japanese TV network in 1998. Since his introduction, he has become an international phenomenon along the lines of 'Hello Kitty,' (a little more hipster-ish, though) with appeal to kids, pre-teens and twenty-somethings, skewing almost equally in popularity with male and female demographics. His big, toothy face has been plastered on scores of products, but never in a book. "DOMO in the World" is a small-format board book featuring 15 photos of Domo out and about throughout the year, and each image is paired with quirky haiku (which is appropriate owing to his Japanese origins). Situations include flying a kite (or being flown by a kite in Domo's case), TP'ing a house at Halloween dressed as a ghost, making romantic overtures to a fuzzy pillow which looks a lot like him and chowing down on a field of flowers. This fun production is a book, but packaged in a way to be merchy enough to carry on Domo's merch-y success.
