Allene Phy-Olsen, PhD, is professor emerita of Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN. She was named outstanding professor at George Peabody College in Nashville and received the Hawkins Award for outstanding publications at Austin Peay State University. She is the author of four earlier books and hundreds of articles and reviews for both academic and popular journals. A world traveler, she has lectured widely on topics in literature and world religions in both the United States and Europe.
