Portrait of My Love (Innbundet (stive permer))
Valerie Barham was born in Kenfig Hill, a small village approximately four miles from Sker, which played a prominent part of summer holidays in her youth. Sker beach is a little further along the South Wales coast from Porthcawl, in a westerly direction. The author is a retired Local Government Officer and has two daughters and a grand-daughter, who inspired her to write an old-fashioned romantic novel. Valerie's interests mostly involve music - listening to classical music and playing the piano, doing her daily "quick" crossword and travelling whenever she has the opportunity. She has wanted to write for many years and some time ago wrote some children's stories which are filed away! At the moment Valerie is completing a follow-up novel set in the areas she loves and where she has lived all her life.
James is a successful Welsh artist who has promised to undertake an assignment for his best friend. The project has been delayed because he has been unable to find a suitable model. It comes as a great surprise, therefore, when he discovers the very person he has been looking for paddling and enjoying the waves at Sker Beach, which is not very far from his home. The meeting changes his life.
