A real page-turner . . . You'll want to inhale it in one breath * Easy Living *Carefully crafted and empathetic * Sunday Times *Delicious, big hearted, utterly addictive . . . irresistible * Marie Claire *Delves deep into the importance of love and friendship * Manchester Evening News *Written from the heart * The Bookseller *I was engaged and moved by this irresistible novel about friendship, family and dealing with life's blows * Woman & Home *Rayner has done it again - with her knack of turning what at first seems an unlikely subject into a gripping read. She made me care desperately what happened to these people and their lives. A brilliant book * Brighton and Hove Independent *A sympathetic insight into the causes and effects of mental ill-health as it affects ordinary people. Powerful. * My Weekly *A great read that fearlessly tackles how mental health problems can affect ordinary people. A difficult subject written about with optimism and a light touch * Coastway Radio *An engrossing, bittersweet read peppered with moments of intense beauty... as compelling as any thriller I've read in the past year. Add to this sensitivity, humour and tender insightfulness and you've an absolute corker of a novel -- Laura Wilkinson, author of PUBLIC BATTLES, PRIVATE WARSSarah Rayner doesn't just tell a great story, she speaks to the vulnerabilities in all of us. Heartwarming and suspenseful -- Bobbie Darbyshire, author of LOVE, REVENGE AND BUTTERED SCONESWritten with great insight... It dealt with the area of mental health sensitively but with raw deep emotion -- charlenejess.wordpress.comA thought-provoking book. Rayner's exploration of the issues faced by three very "everyday" people puts the issue of mental health at the centre of worlds which appear cosy and stable. It makes you realise that the line between fine and needing help is very fine indeed -- Lizzie Enfield, author of LIVING WITH ITI'd highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys strong, character-driven drama. Very moving, sad and funny -- beingannereading.blogspot.comIntertwining narratives move the plot on at a brisk pace and, despite the subject matter, this becomes an uplifting rather than depressing read as the likeable key characters form friendships and learn strategies to help them return to an even keel. Rayner understands her subject well and has written an enjoyable and insightful narrative which gently, but expertly, probes this often avoided, certainly less charted, emotional territory * Press Association *
