A stirring tale of derring-do in the air, starring two very dashing dogs by Selina Young for Egmont's blue banana series. One day, Big Dog decides on a plane adventure. So, he gets busy in his workshop and Little Dog helps by making the buttons and levers for the dashboard. Off they go in their shiny plane, doing acrobatics and loop the loops. But when it's time to land for a picnic, they realise they've left the landing button at home! Oh no! It's time for Little Dog to be very brave indeed. Blue bananas are chapter books for children learning to read, suitable for NC Level 2 readers. They are carefully designed educational books for children, supporting their understanding of how to read and develop vocabulary. Blue bananas uses speech bubbles to aid understanding of dialogue and the text encourages children to explore the feelings of characters.

Biographical note

Selina Young is the illustrator of 25 books, some of which she has also written. She attended Cambridge School of Art, and then briefly the prestigious St Martins School of Art. Because she was already making a mark in the children's publishing world, she decided that this is what she wanted to do, so left St Martins, moved into her studio and started properly on her career. Selina lives with her young son Alfred in a blissful house on the coast in Christchurch, New Zealand. Her books are published all round the world, and her delightful illustrations of a young child's world continue to enthrall parents and children alike.
