Biographical note

Liz Gogerly is a former teacher and has been writing children's books about geography, history and PSHE for over twenty years. Biography and telling stories about real people is her speciality. In 2020 she won the SLA award for 'Heroes that Help Us From Around the World'. She publishes adult biographies under the name Liz Flavell. Liz loves music, dancing, cooking, cats and kids. The illustrator, Victor Beuren, lives in Santa Catarina, Brazil. He worked in art direction in the advertising industry for many years before becoming a full-time artist. His work, in ink, watercolour and digital media, has won international recognition, including by the Society of Illustrators.
