For her birthday, Hannah asks her father for a gorilla - but is disappointed when she discovers that the gorilla she's got is just a toy one. One of the best picture books for the over-threes I've seen in a long time.
The author won the illustration section of the Hans Christian Andersen Award for 2000. His previous title "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" won the Kurt Maschler Award and "Zoo" won the Kate Greenaway Medal.
