I can think of no other theologian who has addressed changes in theology, Church, ministry and society so thoroughly and thoughtfully in the period marking the second half of his long, and sometimes embattled, life. It is really good to see that the University of Leuven (to which Erp and Boeve both belong) is keeping interest in his seminal work alive.

The T&T Clark Studies in Edward Schillebeeckx series strives to further the theological legacy of the internationally renowned Flemish-Dutch Dominican, Edward Schillebeeckx (1914-2009), the most important Dutch-speaking Catholic theologian of the 20th century. The volumes in this series seek to further the reader’s understanding of Schillebeeckx’s theology in its context, using detailed analysis of both his more famous and less well-known texts, and providing innovative research that attempts to continue his ideas and methods in dialogue with new contexts and theological developments.
