Who better to take us on a journey round weird and wonderful Great Britain than comedy duo Mitchell and Webb? Their anecdotal tour guide dares to visit those off-the-wall locations the official travel guides forgot: unmissable parts of the country you never knew you wanted to visit (and probably still won't). David and Mark have hand-selected some of the nation's finest fictional Great Britons and sent them off to every nook and cranny of our strange little island, on a mission to unearth the very best alternative days out. Popular fashion journalist Esther Voight kicks back at Bristol CitiSpa, former transport minister James Messenger discovers the rather unconventional holiday resort of Freston-on-Sea, and Dorothea Purchase, Selfridges window-dresser, explores the stately home of Lord Goring, a known Hitler fan during the war (Dorothea naturally tries to relate to this - well, who wouldn't?). We also welcome back Ted Wilkes, our very own BBC snooker commentator, who offers up his verdict on fine dining at Dorney restaurant The Bulimic Goose. Can he stomach it? Full of wry observations, top-ten lists and Mitchell and Webbs' inimitable commentary, Great Britons' Days Out 2011 is British irreverence at its finest, venturing off the beaten track to uncover spoof destinations around the country and at the same time revealing the deepest, darkest secrets of its larger-than-life narrators.

Praise for This Mitchell and Webb Book: 'This Mitchell And Webb Book has been constructed with the same care and attention that you find in their TV work, with the duo having produced a deliciously texty book packed with the same kind of slick, idea-rich comic prose that you find in Mitchell's Observer column.' The Guardian Praise for David Mitchell and Robert Webb: 'The new kings of comedy' Radio Times 'By far the funniest sketch show in ages ... fresh and full of invention' - The Daily Telegraph 'Mitchell (the fat one who looks stuck-up and posh) and Webb (the thin one who looks selfish and stroppy) are talented writers and their current television series is genuinely worth staying in for. It's a reminder (for those who despair at the lame hamfistedness of Little Britain) that British comedians can be both funny and clever' Sunday Telegraph
