(Black/white illustrations) • New to Jets, Karen Wallace is a regular favourite on the young fiction list, being the author of King Henry VIII’s Shoes and Queen Victoria’s Swing, as well as the Spooky Beasts and Grumblerug. • Also new to the Jets list, Russell Ayto abandons his more familiar picture book area and contributes a wonderfully quirky sense of humour to the title. • ‘‘The Jets series deserves credit for imaginative integration of text and pictures…” The Sunday Times.
