There is a growing awareness that many disabled people have difficulties achieving equal participation in society because they have little or no access to telecommunication facilities. This book presents the work of the Cost 219 project "Future Telecommunications and Teleinformatics Facilities for Disabled People". The book contains general discussions related to disability, descriptions of field trials and experimental work and overviews of equipment and services suitable for different groups of people with disabilities. The book demonstrates the diverse subjects have to be encompassed in considering telecommunication and disability.
