Biographical note

Author Profile Dr. Anthony Mescher is Professor of Anatomy and Senior Fellow of Institute for Molecular and Cellular Biology. His teaching and research focus is the regenerating amphibian limb, which is able to reproduce itself completely following amputation. Growth and tissue regeneration in this system are dependent on an effect of the nerves, but the nature of the neural factor(s) which stimulate cell proliferation is not known. Mescher completed a thorough revision of Junquira's Histology Text and Atlas and is the logical choice for the histology review card concept.
