Biographical note

Jim Taylor is Director of Choral Activities at Kilgore College in east Texas, where he directs the Kilgore College Chorale, the Camerata Singers, the East Texas Community Chorus, and the East Texas Youth Chorale. He attended the University of North Texas, received a Masters degree from the University of Miami, and is completing a doctoral degree in Choral Conducting at the University of Alabama, where he was the Narramore Scholar from 2006-2008. He has studied further with Robert Shaw, John Rutter, Richard Miller, and as a conducting participant under Helmuth Rilling at the Oregon Bach Festival. For more than twenty years Jim Taylor enjoyed a career as a church musician, during which time he founded the Jacksonville Children's Chorus and directed the Jacksonville Masterworks Chorale.
