Biographical note

Helmut von Kügelgen (1916-1998) spent thirty years as a teacher at the original Waldorf school in Stuttgart and was a founder of the International Association of Waldorf Kindergartens. He also served as the director of the Waldorf Kindergarten Seminar in Stuttgart and was a steadfast supporter of early years education in North America. Susan Howard is the WECAN Coordinator and a member of the Coordinating Group of the International Steiner/Waldorf Early Childhood Association (IASWECE). She directs the part-time early childhood training at Sunbridge Institute.
