Biographical note

Born and raised in Kent, England, Kiran's love of writing and storytelling came early when, at 16, she entered her first publishing role. She continued working in a variety of positions in the publishing industry, which nurtured and developed her writing and storytelling skills, whilst also gaining different perspectives from travelling the world and spending many holidays in India. A core component of Kiran's work revolves around fun interactive learning. She regularly holds workshops/class readings at schools and nurseries, bringing alive her books 'Have Fun With Panjabi - Book 1/Book 2' and 'Ria & Raj and the Gigantic Diwali Surprise'.Graphic Designer - Venisha SudraVenisha received her Bachelor of Arts with Honours degree in 1999, she started her career working for a newspaper in Ealing. This involved basic layout and design but more excitingly, photography. One assignment took her to high altitudes where she photographed the Red Devils as they jumped out of an RAF Hercules aircraft. Her most recent role as Art Editor for Media Week (Haymarket Publishing) was invigorating, but it all changed in 2009 when Venisha become a mother. The world of freelance gave Venisha the opportunity to become a mum for the second time and take on alternative projects like branding and corporate design. In 2010, Venisha designed and illustrated her first book for children, 'Have Fun With Panjabi'. The project was enlightening, a child's visions, perceptions and imagination were very different, understanding the depth was an exciting new challenge. The success and feedback from Book 1 gave birth to Book 2. Bringing life to 'Ria & Raj' was Venisha's next accomplishment. These loveable characters captured children's imaginations. The first book 'Ria & Raj and the Gigantic Diwali Surprise' was an instant hit with pre-schoolers and children in EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage). Using simple imagery and accurate direction, 'My First Panjabi Alphabet' can teach a child so much and open doors to a whole new world of possibilities.
