Biographical note

Stewart Montgomery has been affiliated with the University of Strathclyde, the University of the West of Scotland, De Montfort University, all UK, as well as various Scottish Colleges of Further Education. His key publications focus on issues relevant to the social housing rented sector in Scotland. One recent publication of national importance is the Equality Data Collection National Guide, 2021, produced by Scottish Federation of Housing Associations/Association of Local Authority Chief Officers/ the Glasgow and West of Scotland Forum of Housing Associations/the Scottish Housing Regulator. This is relevant to all social housing landlords in Scotland as part of the regulatory framework. Another national publication, endorsed by the Equality and Human Rights Commission, was the Guidance on Race Equality in the Scottish Social Rented Housing Sector – A National Guide for Landlords and Tenants, 2010, produced by the Tenant Participation Advisory Service and PATH (Positive Action Training in Housing) (Scotland). Montgomery holds three post-graduate research degrees. His research is focused on the analysis of themes relating to housing law and equality law concerning the social rented housing sector.
