The Bloomsbury Handbook of Japanese Religions is a comprehensive set of essays addressing all areas of current research in the study of Japanese religions. Reflecting both ongoing work on established topics as well as introductions to emerging research on new areas, this Handbook is sure to be highly appreciated across the discipline of Religious Studies.

Helen Hardacre, Professor of Japanese Religions and Society, Harvard University, USA

The broad range of the topics treated, the emphasis on methodology, and the use of case studies make this book a unique and indispensable tool for anyone interested in Japanese religion.

Bernard Faure, Professor of Japanese Religion, Columbia University, USA

This is another valuable tool for studying religion in Japan, which I would warmly recommend to students and more advanced researchers in the search for updates and new perspectives.
