Michael Pearson's interest in knitting began with his residence in a Northumberland fishing village, where he talked with locals about their traditional crafts. In addition to running a mail-order company specializing in traditional knitwear, he is a founding member of the Northern Guild of Knitters and co-director of the Northern Wool Cooperative.
