Biografisk notat

Larry Yu, PhD, is Associate Professor at the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management in the School of Business and Public Management at The George Washington University. He received his master's degree from Boston University in 1984 and his PhD from the University of Oregon in 1988. A native of Hangzhou, China, Dr. Yu has been involved in tourism and hospitality operations and education since 1979. His main research and teaching interests focus on international tourism and hospitality development and management. Over the last nine years, Dr. Yu has taught international hospitality management at both Northern Arizona University and The George Washington University. He served as a lead researcher for the White House Conference on Travel and Tourism in 1995. He has co-edited two books, A Host of Opportunities: Introduction to Hospitality Management and Tourism in China: Geographic, Political, and Economic Perspectives. In addition, Dr. Yu has published over twenty research articles on international hospitality management and serves as a consultant to international hotel firms, such as Choice Hotels International. Dr. Yu serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Vacation Marketing, the Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Education, and the InternationalJournal of Tourism Research.
