African World Histories is a series of retellings of some of the most commonly discussed episodes of the African and global past from the perspectives of Africans who lived through them. Biographical note

Dennis Laumann (PhD, UCLA 1999) is Associate Professor of History at the University of Memphis. He is an expert on colonial West Africa and the author of Remembering the Germans in Ghana (Peter Lang 2010) and has been the recipient of Fulbright research fellowships and the University of Memphis's Excellence in Teaching Award for 2006-2007.
