During lockdown, photographer Sarah Eick walked through a deserted Berlin with her camera and captured photographs of the city and it's architecture, it is a unique glimpse into a usually bustling city without people. Eick's collection of photographs highlight the urban buildings of the capital in a contemporary way, drawing attention to the buildings' features and the structures on their own without any distraction or judgement.

The foreword was written by the Berlin writer, publicist and art historian Tanja Dückers: "Sarah Eick succeeds in the great feat that also demands admiration from native Berliners like me, who have seen many photographs of their hometown: Photos undoubtedly reflect Berlin motifs, but at the same time they are works of a great, translocal, abstract-poetic quality (...) Sarah Eick's buildings and cityscapes of Berlin appear strangely without context, almost like UFOs. Without any form of historicizing or nostalgic pathos, Eick gives them great dignity. Even a takeaway looks sublime on her.”
