CARSTEN KRIEGER is a photographer, author and environmentalist based on the west coast of Ireland. He has published numerous books on Ireland’s landscape, nature and heritage including Ireland’s Coast, The River Shannon, the popular Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way and Ireland’s Wild Beauty: A Book of Days. His book Wild Ireland: A Nature Journey from Shore to Peak was shortlisted for the An Post Irish Book Awards 2023. His most recent book is Ten Thousand Years Deep: The Story of Ireland’s Peatlands. He studied archaeology at UCD and the University of Marburg and was editor of Ireland of the Welcomes for nine years. The author of some thirty-five books on Irish archaeology and art, he was published on both sides of the Atlantic, including Guide to National and Historic Monuments of Ireland, Cooper’s Ireland, The High Crosses of Ireland, and Pre-Christian Ireland. Peter died in May 2023. Muriel Bolger is an experienced travel writer and magazine editor.
