Eleanor Nairne is Head of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. A monograph on the life and work of an outstanding abstract expressionist painter, now emerging as one of the most important women artists of the 20th century.
Lee Krasner, a pioneer of Abstract Expressionism, was one of the few female artists to be given a retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art, New York. This volume features a selection of the artist’s most important paintings, collages and works on paper; essays on her life and art by Eleanor Nairne, Katy Siegel, John Yau and Suzanne Hudson; an interview with her biographer, Gail Levin; and a fully illustrated chronology.
