"The tone is sassy, blunt (like Cohen, who is always refreshingly honest even when the truth hurts) and witty. After just a few pages you'll feel way better about your relationship, career and life in general." -People StyleWatch * People *
"Written in the tone of a girlfriend chatting over a bottle of wine, the book is peppered with quotes from celebs plus authentic storytelling about the author's upbringing, marriage, age and self-image. Cheers to hearing the truth and embracing your own imperfect life."- Star Magazine * Studies In Second Language Acquisition *
"Accessories editor and publicist Beth Thomas Cohen has quite the reputation in the fashion industry-for being incredibly nice and down to earth. Both of which are rare qualities at the top of any business, but fashion especially. So how, you might wonder, did she manage to stay a happy, well-adjusted person? Lucky for you, she's written a whole book about it. Drop the Act, It's Exhausting!: Free Yourself from Your So-Called Put-Together Life, hit shelves this week, and her no-bull sh*t life manual offers straightforward advice on how to lighten up-and enjoy yourself along the way." -Yahoo! Style * Yahoo *
"Is it possible to be so composed all the time? No, actually. And that's okay. For truth, empowerment, and the Feminine Way, nobody says it better than my friend Beth Thomas Cohen. -- Debra Messing
If I had to describe Beth in one word it would be 'real.' She's always honest and upfront, both professionally and personally. I go to her when I want to hear the truth (so, like, half the time). -- Andrea Lavinthal, PEOPLE Style & Beauty director
"I felt like I could be sitting down having coffee with Cohen. .. .You should read this book because it celebrates our imperfections. It calls us on our BS. It reminds us to be open-minded and maybe a little nicer and not quite so judgmental. .. .its tone and message are refreshing. .. .it validates the snarky texts a friend and I share about an acquaintance who only posts on Facebook the things that talk about how wonderful and perfect her life is. You should read it because it made me decide that the next time my client calls me the wrong name, I'm correcting him- because it is, indeed, ok for me to speak up. You should read it because Cohen makes the list of authors that I'd love to have a drink with sometime." * The Book Fetish *
"Publicist Cohen's new book succeeds in encourageing women who are juggling work, famly, and fashion, to remove the fantasy veil of perfection." * Library Journal *

Drop the Act, It's Exhausting! is one woman's call to all women to embrace the imperfections in their lives and to air their "improper" thoughts about relationships, love, sex, parenting, careers, self-esteem, and self-image. By no longer being ashamed or apologetic about how they "really feel," women will become more aware of who they are and more accepting of themselves and one another. With wit, candor, and refreshingly blunt observations, Beth Thomas Cohen proves herself the prime example of how freeing, fun, and unifying it can be to drop the act and live a not so put-together life.
