Biographical note

Sarah and Colin Simon, the husband and wife duo behind My Gardening Journal, find inspiration for all their creative projects in their ever-blooming Seattle-based urban farm. Sarah, world-renowned painting instructor and creator of the international best-selling Watercolor Workbook series, has taught thousands of budding artists the joy of creating lush watercolours inspired by the diverse variety of flowers, trees, and herbs grown in their garden. Colin, wealth advisor by day and steadfast gardener in every other waking moment, is the backbone of their garden, nurturing annual and perennial plants while also exploring unique, heirloom varieties in their greenhouse. Having grown up gardening with his mother and grandfather, he's acquired decades of gardening experience and wisdom, nurturing a devotion to growing beautiful plants. Together, Sarah and Colin are passionate about teaching others the value of patience, diligence, and curiosity in their approaches to gardening. The couple and their two daughters split their time between Seattle, Washington and Charleston, South Carolina, tending to their robust gardens at both homes.
