Every spring, visitors can walk the tulip fields, posing by old tractors and coloring benches for that picture-perfect moment. It is easy to spend a day here with a number of festivities available for the entire family. There is a children’s play area featuring pony rides, bouncy houses, and many games. Vendors line up with locally made crafts and foods. Multiple food carts offer a variety of fresh foods. There are many special events each year, as well, such as a hot air balloon ride, a 5k race, and a photo contest. Both tulips and daffodils are available to order, so you can add the beautiful flowers to your own garden.
Shrewsbury Renaissance Faire

The Shrewsbury Renaissance Faire takes visitors back over 500 years to the Elizabethan Age of 1558. It focuses on interactive learning with jousting adventures, shows, and more than 1,000 costumed actors. There are stages with music and plays of Shakespeare’s works. The faire is sectioned into lanes with each focusing on different aspects of the culture. You can stroll down Friar Tuck’s Forest for hundreds of food options. Children can gallop and play in an adventure area set up just for little ones. Vendors sell Renaissance gifts and show off silversmith work. Step back in time and immerse yourself in a piece of history.
Portland Rose Festival

Going strong since 1907, The Portland Rose Festival offers activities for the entire family. The festival starts in late spring in the Portland Waterfront and lasts a month. Fireworks, the Starlight Run, and parades start out the celebration. CityFair features theme park rides, games, and kid-zone, with local foods and drinks available. Each week the fair has a different theme allowing you to visit multiple times with new experiences.
