Peter Harrison is a retired medical practitioner with a lifelong interest in military architecture. He has written on fortified churches in La Thierache in France, Peloponnesian castles and fortresses, the fortified village of Ushguli and the Pa Maori. Boydell and Brewer published his book Castles of God; Fortified Religious Buildings of the World in 2004 and it was shortlisted for the Longman-History Today Book of the Year Award in 2005.
Peter Dennis was born in 1950. Inspired by contemporary magazines such as Look and Learn he studied Illustration at Liverpool Art College. Peter has since contributed to hundreds of books, predominantly on historical subjects, including many Osprey titles. A keen wargamer and modelmaker, he is based in Nottinghamshire, UK.
