"The most noteworthy aspect of this resource is its global scope. ...The level and depth of international expertise is displayed via the perspectives and examples provided in each entry by the authors.... [They] deftly lay out the historical context of political communication in each area, while also discussing themes, trends, and sources of controversy within the political communications sphere before highlighting avenues for future research directions within the area.

These global perspectives mesh with the interdisciplinary nature of the work and its entries that meld psychology, critical media studies, sociology, cultural studies, economics and political science, among other disciplines. [The Encyclopedia] includes many entries that are timely, unique and interdisciplinary.

...The contributors to this work always have their eye on the future, without neglecting the past.... This resource's international focus, interdisciplinary nature and currency stand out among other related resources. ...This work would be a very useful and excellent addition to any academic social sciences reference collection that serves mid- to upper-level undergraduates, graduate students or faculty/researchers." - Reference Reviews
