Big, bold illustrations are big enough for sharing and young children are sure to giggle as this flight of fancy takes on an unexpected reality. – Puget Sound Council for Reviewing Children's and Young Adult Literature

Some families may see their own nighttime routines in this picture book, especially those with single dads or kids who are reluctant to head upstairs. YA Books Central

A little girl makes up all kinds of excuses not to go to bed. But what if they’re not excuses…? A sweet bedtime story with a twist at the end!

When a little girl goes to bed, she finds a rather big problem – there’s a cow in her bed! When her father goes to her room, the cow has gone and her father tells her to go to sleep. Later on that night, the cow comes back, together with a card-playing duck and a counting elephant! Is the little girl just stalling? Either way, it looks like no one is getting much sleep tonight!
