The Earth is covered with rocks and minerals—even beneath the oceans. A geologist is a scientist who studies the Earth, including its rocks and minerals. Geologists help us learn about our planet’s history. They study earthquakes, volcanoes, climate, and the environment. They also locate fuels, metals, and water in the ground.

Biografisk notat

Jonah S. Jacobson has been fascinated with rocks and minerals since he was five years old. He has fond memories of collecting rocks and searching for agates along the shores of Lake Superior, north of his home in rural Minnesota. Jonah, a high school student, spent his 2020 “summer of social distancing” studying and learning more about rock collecting. It is his pleasure to pass along that knowledge to you in this coloring and activity book. Jonah is proof that you are never too young to chase your dreams or to become an author. This is Jonah’s second book.
