Big Cat for Little Wandle Fluency has been developed in collaboration with Wandle Learning Trust and Little Sutton Primary School. It consists of a range of chapter books with increasing word counts across 10 fluency levels aimed at children in Year 2 and 3. Each book builds reading confidence, stamina and speed and nurtures a love for reading. Fluency 7 books have a word count of 4800 words with an expected reading rate of 100 words per minute. It’s Twiggy’s first firework night, and Rafferty has warned her about the loud bangs and flashes of light from the neighbouring farm. Rather than stay indoors, Twiggy decides to venture outside but her bark is stolen by the fireworks! Leaving their humans behind, Twiggy and Rafferty embark on an adventure to get Twiggy's bark back…

Biographical note

Poppy was inspired to write The Lost Bark by a very brave boy who struggled with selective mutism. She based the characters of Twiggy and Rafferty on her own dogs, and loved the challenge of capturing their mannerisms and personalities on the page.
