Laura S. Brown, PhD, ABPP, has been a practitioner of feminist psychotherapy, supervision, and forensic psychology since the 97 s. As the author of the foundational text Subversive Dialogues: Theory in Feminist Therapy, in addition to other books and more than 5 articles and book chapters, she has been a major contributor to theory and practice in the fields of feminist psychotherapy and trauma treatment. Dr. Brown has been featured in APA DVDs about feminist therapy, trauma treatment, and feminist approaches to supervision, and has also lectured on these and related topics in the United States, Canada, Israel, Taiwan, Australia, and Europe. From 2 to 2 5, she directed the Fremont Community Therapy Project, a feminist therapy training clinic that she founded. She is a fellow of nine APA divisions, the Association for Psychological Science, and the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation. A late-in-life student of aikido, Dr. Brown was working toward her black belt at the time of this book's publication.

While feminist therapy has grown in stature and recognition in the last few decades, comparatively little has been written about supervision and consultation from a feminist standpoint.
