This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 14th International Symposium on Methodologies for Intelligent Systems, ISMIS 2003, held in Maebashi City, Japan in October 2003.The 97 revised papers presented together with extended abstracts of 4 invited talks were carefully reviewed and selected from close to 200 submissions.
