WHEN NORTH KOREA ATTACKED THE SOUTH ON JUNE 25, 1950, UNITED STATES FORCES IN EAST ASIA WERE UNDER THE COMMAND OF GENERAL DOUGLAS MACARTHUR, WHOSE LARGEST GROUND FORCE WAS EIGHTH US ARMY.
