Leonard Cohen (1934 - 2016) was an international cult figure, transcending genres and generations. In 2003 he was made a Companion of the Order of Canada and, in 2010, he received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. Over the course of his career he won many awards, released twenty-six albums, filled books with soul-searching poetry and prose and wrote two novels, He was also a rare painter, of wit and beauty, however it remains his songs and lyrics which define Cohen as an artist. Here, gathered in one volume, are his lyrics, prefaced by a fascinating interview he gave to Malka Marom in 1974. She bacame a long-time friend, and her introduction is a fitting tribute to Cohen's brilliance.
