Under their aprilkind label, Steffi and Michael Gerharz design and develop stories and stuffed toys for children. They live with their three children in Troisdorf, near Cologne, Germany. They got the idea for the Grumbletroll when their youngest daughter sat across from them at the breakfast table, sulking and grumbling with her arms crossed. Barbara van den Speulhof is a children’s book author and director and producer of radio plays for children. After short periods in mechanical engineering and architecture, Stephan Pricken studied primary school teaching with a focus on art, and then graphic design.
